Halloween 2017 is fewer than 140 days away, and many Halloweenheads have already started brainstorming and planning this year’s celebration. We’re looking forward to the season ahead, and there’s plenty of Halloween and horror news to keep us Halloween-lovers entertained in the meantime.
Here’s a digest of the latest to keep you in the know!
Halloween & Horror Events

From Murder House to Roanoke, they’ve got it all on display at the Paley Center for Media for your viewing pleasure this summer. Slashed! The Musical
This musical homage to the slasher genre runs select nights this June at the Complex Theatre in Hollywood. The production’s list of creators is a VIP lineup of the hottest names in the L.A. horror scene. With director Chelsea Stardust, writer Sean Keller, co-producers Rudy Scalese and Clarke Wolfe, and choreography from Blumhouse.com’s Rebekah McKendry- there’s no doubt the minds behind Slashed! The Musical are not only fans but experts in the genre. The show quickly sold out all of its performances (including added encores), so here’s hoping more encore nights are added. This is an event you shouldn’t miss! For more information, click here.
Halloween Horror Nights
Tickets have gone on sale and maze construction has begun for this year’s Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios in Orlando and Hollywood. Although many details have yet to be revealed, we have found out that American Horror Story will return again this year. This year’s AHS maze will showcase scenes from Asylum, Coven, and Roanoke. Another exciting addition to this year’s line up of scares includes a maze themed after The Shining.

Upcoming Horror Movie News
Amityville: The Awakening
This installment in the Amityville series starring Bella Thorne has been removed from this summer’s release schedule… again. This is the 5th time the release date was postponed, and many fear this genre offering from Dimension Films may never see the light of day.
Halloween
A teaser promo image from the new Halloween film was released recently. The reboot is said to be more in line with the style of the original film, and creators hope to bring Michael back to his scary roots. David Gordon Green will direct and is co-writing the script with Danny McBride. John Carpenter will return as an Executive Producer and Creative Consultant on the project from Blumhouse Productions, so we have high hopes for Micheal’s comeback on October 19th, 2018.
